I am a freelance writer and communications consultant based in Nashville, TN. As the former communications director for a major midwest cultural institution, my background includes journalism, strategic storytelling, social media, content production, copywriting, and planning and executing internal, local, national, and international communications strategies. I earned both my undergraduate and MBA degrees from Xavier University. As a mother of young children, I enjoy changing diapers, wiping small hands, pointing at birds, and finger painting. The rest of the time, I enjoy gardening, meeting with my book club, hiking, playing piano, and listening to old episodes of This American Life.
The photos from my very amateur garden are fully intended to be symbolic of my writing process. Content should always be growing and adapting. Left alone, it will do just that and maybe turn out looking decent. But for a story to really shine, it needs pruning, watering, and a whole ‘lotta weed pulling. The sometimes painful process yields surprising beauty that emerges only with great care.
